A user holds for instance a government-issued identity credential.

The user can participate in an opinion poll and certify his statistical classification with the anonymous credential system, e.g., that the user’s age is between 20 and 25, that she comes from the region Zurich, and that she has not participated in this opinion poll yet.

The user has the advantage that she stays unlinkable, whereas the opinion poll benefits from the certified data quality.

A user obtains an anonymous credential for a service provider.

For example, a user pays for a subscription at news site and can then anonymously use the premium news service authenticated by the anonymous credential.

The anonymous credential system makes the user’s transactions unlinkable, yet ensures the service provider that the user actually paid.
